Your home, condo or rental policies offer personal liability, which basically means that if someone is injured by you or someone/thing while on your property, you're protected. You also have liability coverage in your automobile policy, which protects you if you injure someone in a motor vehicle accident.
Some of our clients take out additional personal liability coverage for an extra layer of protection. In an increasingly litigious world, additional coverage could protect you from things like libel, slander or defamation of character or other personal injury claims of that nature. If you own a pool or a trampoline, a boat or even a vacation home or trailer, you might be at increased risk of someone injuring themselves while on (or in) your property.
If this is something you'd like to know more about, just let us know. We'd be happy to discuss it with you.
