Some other ways we can help you ...
As an accredited Alberta registry agent, we offer many services that may be helpful to you. Whether you're buying a car, paying a fine or want to hold a raffle for your charitable organization, FMA can help you do it right the first time, saving you time, legal difficulty and headaches.
If you require any of these services, just come in to our office or call us and we'd be happy to help.
Land Title Search Since land title records are public information, anyone can request a land title search on any piece of land in Alberta. We can help you do it because we are an accredited agency. We can run a search using the information you provide. The search results will show you the individuals or companies that hold the title, plus any encumbrances against the property.
Lien Search If you're buying a used vehicle there are steps you should take to protect yourself. Doing a lien search tells you if someone owes money on the vehicle. If you purchase it without doing a search and someone does owe money on it, you might have to pay the amount that is owed or the vehicle could be legally seized. Find out before you buy.
Lien Registration If you make payments on a vehicle, boat or recreational vehicle, the company who has financed your purchase may register a lien against your property. That's also true of the person you may be purchasing from. We can help to protect you from purchasing personal property with liens or encumbrances against it with our comprehensive lien registration search. Unfortunately, we can only search for liens registered in Alberta
Carfax Search Before you purchase a used car, ask us to perform a Carfax search for you. This could protect you against buying used a vehicle with costly hidden problems, fraudulent sales or claims that have been filed against it.
Fine Payments Unpaid fines can create a lot of difficulty for you, including being restricted from some motor vehicle services until they are paid. You can pay your fines at FMA and relieve yourself of any stress or concern. You just need to provide your original yellow ticket and we'll gladly accept your payment.
Raffle License Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission requires that charitable or religious organizations purchase a raffle license before they "conduct a lottery scheme in which tickets or prize bonds are sold for a chance to win prizes". You will need different application forms depending on whether your prizes total less than $10,000 or more than $10,000. In either case, raffle licenses can be arranged through FMA.
