Name Search

Whether you are seeking a name for a new incorporation or changing the name of an existing Alberta company, the first thing you will need to do is a name search.  This is done through a computerized search system called NUANS (Newly Upgraded Automated Name Search). How it works you provide a proposed name(s) NUANS searches a database of existing corporate names the Registrar will determine if there are companies with exact or confusingly similar names already registered You'll be given a list of names to choose from.  That list will be held for 90 days As an accredited service provider, we can help you complete your name search, satisfying the requirements of the Federal and Alberta governments.   Did you know? It's your responsibility to ensure that your new business or corporate name doesn't infringe on 3rd party rights, so choose a business name carefully.  If the name chosen is the same as, or similar to, an existing business name or trademark, the owners of that company could take your business to court.
