If you offer professional services, such as consulting (legal, accounting, real estate, etc.), you are automatically held to a higher level of duty and accountability. That means that you could be held responsible if a client perceives that an error or negligent act on your part resulted in financial loss or injury. It's important to understand that this is not covered by Commercial General Liability.

It's your responsibility to ensure that your new business or corporate name doesn't infringe on 3rd party rights, so choose carefully. If the name chosen is the same as, or similar to, an existing business name or trademark, the owners of that company could take your business to court.
