Operating a motor vehicle in Alberta, requires a driver's license. At FMA, we can help you with everything from getting your learner's permit to renewing or replacing your current license.
What you'll need Before you can get (or renew) your driver's license, we're legally required to take you through a strict identity confirmation process. After all, it is one of the most secure pieces of identification anyone can have, so we need to do it right. You will need:
- Photo documents that must contain your legal name and date of birth. At least one of these documents must also prove that you are legally permitted to be in Canada.
- Support documents that contain two data elements such as name, date of birth, signature, address, etc. At least one of these documents must show that you reside in Alberta.
- If you're under the age of 18 and are not married or self-supporting, you'll need to provide consent from your parent or guardian
Did you know? If you're new to Alberta, you need to apply for an Alberta Driver's license within 90 days of moving here.
