Change Directors

If your business is incorporated, you will need to stay on top of any changes you make, including changes in directors, director's addresses, corporate addresses or lawyers. The Business Corporation Act requires you to keep corporate information current by filing appropriate corporate records amendments. When there is a change of address and/or change in directors for your corporation, you must notify Corporate Registry through an authorized service provider within 15 days. If you have a sole proprietorship, you can't change the name of the declarant (you) except in the case of a legal name change.  If you stop using your trade name or sell your business to someone else, the original trade name must be dissolved and a new trade name filed by the new owner/user.
